Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. They provide a strong, permanent foundation for crowns, bridges, or dentures. Unlike other tooth replacement options, implants offer stability, durability, and a completely natural look. Here’s why dental implants are considered the best solution:

1. Natural Look and Feel Dental implants are designed to look, feel, and function just like your natural teeth. With a custom-made crown, no one will notice it’s not your original tooth. This allows you to smile, speak, and eat with confidence.

2. Preserve Jawbone Health When teeth are missing, the jawbone can shrink over time, leading to changes in facial structure and other oral problems. Dental implants stimulate the jawbone naturally, preventing bone loss and maintaining facial aesthetics.

3. Long-Lasting Solution With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime, unlike dentures or bridges that often need replacements. This makes implants a cost-effective, permanent solution for missing teeth.

4. Improved Oral Function Dental implants restore full function, letting you chew, bite, and speak naturally. Unlike removable dentures, implants don’t slip or cause discomfort, so you can enjoy all your favorite foods without worry.

5. Protect Surrounding Teeth Unlike bridges that require reshaping adjacent teeth, dental implants don’t compromise surrounding teeth. They preserve your natural teeth while providing a stable and durable replacement.

Invisalign has quickly become the most popular orthodontic choice for patients in Potts Point who want a discreet, comfortable, and efficient way to straighten their teeth. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners that blend seamlessly with your lifestyle. Whether you’re working, studying, or socialising, Invisalign offers a modern solution that delivers great results without impacting your confidence. This article explores why Potts Point locals prefer Invisalign, how it works, and the benefits it provides for comfort, convenience, and oral health.

The Confidence of a Nearly Invisible Treatment

One of the main reasons people choose Invisalign is its discreet appearance. The aligners are made from clear, smooth plastic that fits snugly over your teeth, making them almost invisible. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign allows you to straighten your teeth without brackets, wires, or the feeling of being on display.

For adults who postponed orthodontic treatment due to appearance concerns, Invisalign offers a confidence-boosting alternative.

Comfort and Convenience: How Invisalign Fits Your Lifestyle

Invisalign aligners are designed for everyday comfort. With no metal components, they won’t irritate your cheeks or gums. Each aligner is customised to fit your mouth, allowing gentle and controlled tooth movement.

The aligners are removable, so you can take them out for eating, brushing, and flossing. No food restrictions apply.

Oral Health Benefits of Invisalign

Because the aligners are removable, you can brush and floss normally. This reduces plaque buildup and helps prevent cavities and gum inflammation. Properly aligned teeth are easier to clean long-term.

Customised Treatment for Predictable Results

Invisalign begins with digital scanning technology, creating a precise 3D model of your teeth. This allows predictable, computer-guided planning. You can even preview the expected results before treatment starts.

Faster, More Efficient Orthodontics

Many Potts Point patients appreciate Invisalign because it can achieve great results faster than traditional braces. Most treatments take 6 to 18 months. Fewer appointments are required compared to braces.

Invisalign and Special Life Stages

For Professionals – Maintain a polished appearance

For Teens – Wear indicators help ensure consistent use.

For Adults – A discreet way to straighten teeth without lifestyle disruption.

Caring for Your Aligners and Your Smile

Rinse and clean aligners daily.

Avoid hot water.

Store aligners safely when not wearing them.

Brush and floss regularly.

Wear aligners 20–22 hours per day.

Final Thoughts

Invisalign delivers outstanding results with comfort, discretion, and convenience, making it the preferred choice in Potts Point. With advanced technology and predictable outcomes, Invisalign offers a stress-free path to a confident smile.

Yes nitrous oxide has been used safely in dentistry for over 150 years. It’s one of the most trusted sedation options available. Dentists can carefully control the dosage to suit your needs, and the effects wear off within minutes after the mask is removed.

There are minimal side effects, and it’s non-addictive. Most patients are able to drive home or return to daily activities after their appointment.

Then you’ve probably considered dental veneers. No doubt you’ve wondered, ‘What’s the real difference between composite vs porcelain veneers?’ You’re not alone. I hear this question…A LOT.

The truth is, both types of dental veneers can change the shape, size, and colour of your teeth. They can give you a natural-looking smile you love. But when it comes to cost, treatment duration and material durability, this is where there are differences.

Keen to get the gorgeous smile you’ve always wanted? Here’s a deeper look at the pros and cons of both types of veneers, so you can find the perfect fix for you.

First up, what dental issues can veneers fix?

Both types of veneers, composite and porcelain, can solve a range of cosmetic dental issues, including:

Staining or discolouration

Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth

Worn-down teeth

Misshapen or irregularly shaped teeth

Gaps

What are composite veneers?

As the name suggests, composite veneers are made from composite resin. (This is a strong plastic material.) The resin is bonded onto the front of the tooth. You might also hear this treatment referred to as composite bonding. The composite material is applied to the surface of the tooth to make the shape, size or colour more appealing.

Composite veneers treatment process

Here’s a step-by-step guide to the composite veneers procedure.

Step 1: Initial consultation

Our dentist in Potts Point will chat through your options and assess your dental health. This is to make sure that composite veneers are best for you. You’ll receive a treatment plan. Remember, there’s no pressure; you can accept or reject this plan. If dental treatments make you feel a bit squiffy, we can discuss sedation options too!

Step 2: Prep

There’s little or no preparation needed for composite veneers. Yet, in some cases, a tiny amount of your natural teeth might need to be removed. In the case of indirect veneers, impressions are needed to tailor-make your veneers.

Step 3: Placing the veneers

Composite resin is placed directly onto your teeth. This is sculpted into the right shape and size. Blue light is used to cure (harden) the resin. Your veneers are polished and, just like magic, your smile is transformed.

Composite veneers are made from composite resin that is bonded onto the front of the tooth. The composite material is applied to the surface of the tooth to make the shape, size or colour more appealing.

‍

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a fantastic way to add the sparkle back into your smile. The shells are custom-made from wafer-thin ceramic porcelain. These are placed onto the front surface of the teeth. The preparation process involves removing a small amount of tooth enamel, which is irreversible. The good news is that porcelain mimics the natural translucency of teeth. For this reason, porcelain veneers look more like natural teeth. They’re also very durable.

Porcelain veneers treatment process

Think porcelain veneers might be the go for enhancing your smile? Here’s a step-by-step guide to what you can expect from the process.

Step 1: Consultation

Just like with composite veneers, the first step is your consultation. This includes a dental health check to make sure your teeth are healthy before applying veneers.

Step 2: Prep

Teeth preparation ensures the correct placement of the veneers. Part of the tooth enamel will be removed. This is so that the veneers sit flush on the teeth and don’t look bulky. Impressions will be taken to craft veneers that fit the shape and size of your mouth.

Step 3: Evaluation

Once your custom-made veneers are back from the lab, you’ll return. Before they are bonded onto your teeth, we’ll check the fit, shape, and colour to make sure it’s perfect.

The pre-bonding process for porcelain veneers takes a minimum of two visits. This is to ensure you get beautiful, natural-looking results.

Step 4: The bonding process

A thin layer of dental cement is used to secure the veneers in place. Blue light is used to harden the cement and speed up the bonding process.

Porcelain vs composite veneers: Let’s talk pros and cons

Now that we’ve covered what composite veneers and porcelain veneers are, let’s get into the pros and cons.

Porcelain veneers can last up to 15 years with proper care, look like natural teeth and are highly resistant to stains.

‍

PROS: porcelain veneers

CONS: porcelain veneers

Higher cost compared to other treatments.

Treatment is irreversible.

Can’t be repaired.

PROS: composite veneers

Quicker and less expensive than porcelain veneers.

Require minimal to no tooth preparation.

Can fix many aesthetic dental issues.

CONS: composite veneers

The verdict

Knowing you need braces is a buzzkill, right? But, thanks to teeth straightening innovations like Invisalign, getting braces in adulthood needn’t mean an abrupt end to your social life. (Not to mention your self-esteem!)

Virtually invisible, removable, waay more comfortable and less ugly than traditional braces—Invisalign is a popular choice. But what about Invisalign cost? While the price of clear aligners can vary depending on your individual needs, in Australia you can expect to pay anywhere from $5,000 to $9,000.

Here’s a look at the factors that can influence cost. Plus, let’s not ignore the cheaper alternatives to Invisalign. Find out what the differences are so you know *exactly* what you’re paying for.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign clear aligners (AKA invisible braces) are a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. No metal wires. No brackets. No need to hide your smile during treatment.

In fact, the ‘barely-there’ nature of Invisalign clear aligners means that no one will even know that you’re straightening your teeth.

Virtually invisible, removable, more comfortable than traditional braces—Invisalign aligners are a popular choice to gradually straighten your teeth.

‍

Not only is Invisalign discreet, it’s comfortable and removable. Scored a hot date? Got a job interview? Taking the stage for an important business presentation? No problem. Simply remove your aligners and you can be yourself—with confidence. Once you’re done, pop them back in.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Certain that Invisalign is the best option for you? Then you’re probably wondering ’how much does Invisalign cost’. Yep, it’s the million dollar question on everyone’s lips. But the truth is… (“drumroll”)

It depends!

While you might pay between $4,000 and $7,000 for regular braces, Invisalign may cost $5,000 to $9,000. Surprised? Most people assume that metal braces are a more cost-effective option. In some cases, Invisalign can end up being the less expensive option. Keep on reading to drill down on what exactly affects the cost of Invisalign.

Factors that affect the cost of Invisalign

Invisalign treatment costs depend on individual needs. However, the main factors to consider include:

How much your teeth need to move

In severe and complex cases, it may take longer for the teeth to move into the correct position. Things like bite correction and major alignments may need more planning. This can mean a higher cost.

Bite correction and major alignments may need more planning and it can take longer for the teeth to move into the correct position.

‍

The length of treatment

Invisalign treatment can take as little as three months. Yet, complex cases can take as long as 18 months. During orthodontic treatment, you’ll visit your dentist regularly to track your progress. These appointments are factored into your overall Invisalign cost. So, longer treatment plans mean more appointments — and a higher cost.

How many sets of Invisalign aligners you need

Invisalign treatment involves a series of aligner trays. You’ll receive a new set of aligners every two weeks or so, until your pearly whites look perfect. The more complex your case, the more aligner trays you’ll need. This can increase your overall Invisalign cost.

How much your health insurance will cover

Got private health insurance? Go you. You may be able to claim part of your Invisalign treatment costs. Your eligibility and the amount you can claim will depend on your individual policy and level of cover. A couple of things to consider…

Does your policy include orthodontic treatment?

Most health funds have a ‘lifetime limit’ on orthodontic treatment. This means there’s a maximum amount you can claim. If you’ve already reached your limit, you won’t be able to claim. Yep, even if you change insurers!

Only just got health insurance? Check out the waiting periods. In most cases, you have to wait 12 months before you can claim on orthodontics, which includes Invisalign.

Invisalign vs braces cost

Think Invisalign costs more than traditional braces? Not always. Truth is, Invisalign is comparable to other orthodontic treatments. This handy table gives you a quick snapshot of Invisalign vs braces cost.

Invisalign cost is comparable to other orthodontic treatments such as metal or ceramic braces.

Cheaper alternatives to Invisalign

Cheaper alternatives to Invisalign include at-home solutions, with costs ranging from approximately $1,300 to $2,500. This is where you receive an impression kit to make moulds of your teeth at home. The moulds are then used to create your clear aligners, which are sent to you by mail. There are no face-to-face dentist visits to have your aligners fitted or monitored.

Think this sounds like a good thing?

What if your teeth straightening treatment doesn’t go to plan? You might end up having to fork out more than if you had Invisalign in the first first place. Other factors to be aware of include:

There is no consultation or x-rays —These are an important part of your treatment. They help your dentist to spot any underlying issues that may affect the success of your treatment.

It might not work for everyone — In complex cases, Invisalign may not be the right teeth straightening option. Clear aligners may not deliver the dream smile you’ve been looking for. This is where your dentist’s advice and experience are priceless. Your dentist will work with you to design a personalised plan. They will monitor your progress and may adjust your treatment to make certain you get great results.

Is Invisalign worth the cost?

While traditional teeth straightening methods, such as metal braces, work well—Invisalign is a popular and effective choice. If the idea of metal braces is keeping you from achieving your dream smile and getting your smile confidence back, then Invisalign treatment is definitely worth the money.

Want to know *exactly* how much your Invisalign treatment will cost? Come in for an Invisalign consultation. During your appointment, we’ll:

‍Examine your mouth, take scans, and assess your suitability

Show you what your new smile could look like before treatment starts

Give you a detailed treatment plan including the cost and treatment time frame

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign (AKA clear braces) uses a set of see-through plastic aligner trays to gently straighten your teeth. The aligners are virtually invisible and removable, offering freedom and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

The best bit? You can take out your Invisalign aligners. This makes brushing, flossing, eating, and drinking easy. Going to a special event? Going to be speaking at a work seminar? Relax, you can remove your aligners and feel like your real self.

But keep in mind, Invisalign trays must be worn for at least 20 to 22 hours a day to be effective!

Invisalign uses special software, giving your dentist precise control over the movement of your teeth. Plus, 3D scanning technology means you can see a virtual image of how your new straight teeth will look. You get to see this before your treatment begins.

The “pièce de résistance”? *Drum roll* — Invisalign aligners are removable. Yasss, you can choose to take them out when eating, drinking, going on a date, doing sport…

Predictable results

Assuming you wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day (*refer to previous benefit), they are highly predictable. Invisalign aligners are made from SmartTrack® material, for more predictable, controlled tooth movements.

Brushing and flossing is easy

You can remove your Invisalign aligner trays while brushing or flossing your teeth. So, no finding broccoli stuck in your back teeth!

Suitable for most cases, even complex ones

Invisalign is suitable for most orthodontic problems in adults or teenagers. This includes crowded teeth, misaligned teeth, gaps, overbite, or underbite.‍

Invisalign cons

Possible disadvantages of Invisalign include:

You need discipline

For your Invisalign treatment to work, you must wear your aligners. For best results you must wear them for at least 20-22 hours a day. This means ALL THE TIME, except when eating and brushing.

Slight inconvenience

When you eat or drink anything other than water you must remove your aligners. Plus, you need to brush your teeth before putting them back in your mouth. This can be a little inconvenient if you’re out and about.

You’re in the driver’s seat

Following your dentist’s instructions is essential. This means replacing your aligners at the right time to ensure your progress stays on track. For most people this is easy. For some, it can be tricky. I’m looking at you, teenage patients (No offence!)

May not suit frequent snackers and sippers

Invisalign aligners should be removed for anything other than water. If you don’t, food can get trapped, leading to cavities and gum disease. Frequent snackers or sippers may need to change their habits. This shouldn’t be a deal breaker, but more of a ‘good to know’.

How do braces work?

This traditional teeth-straightening method uses wires and brackets to shift your pearly whites into the correct place. Brackets are fitted to each tooth to secure the wire. Unlike Invisalign, which moves teeth individually, braces apply the same level of constant pressure to all teeth.

During the treatment process, you’ll see your dentist regularly (every 4-6 weeks). This is to adjust your braces to ensure your teeth are moving into the correct position. There are different types of braces:

Metal braces

Traditional metal braces are made of stainless steel wires and brackets. They are fixed to the outside of your teeth. This makes them the most noticeable braces of the bunch.

Ceramic braces

Like metal braces, ceramic braces are fixed to the outside of the teeth. However, they are made from… (surprise!) …ceramic. This material is white or clear, so the braces are less obvious.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces use metal brackets and wires, but these are attached to the back of your teeth (not the front). This makes them less visible than other braces. The downside? Fitting them is more difficult and takes longer than other types of braces.

Let’s be honest, braces vs Invisalign price will play a major role in your decision. When it comes to the cost o Invisalign, most people think it’s going to be A LOT more expensive than braces. Truth is, the price of both orthodontic treatments can be similar. Heck, in some cases Invisalign can cost less than braces. It just depends on the complexity of your case.

Factors that can affect the cost of Invisalign include:

How much your teeth need to move

Length of treatment

How many sets of aligner trays you need

Whether you have dental insurance

The experience and location of your orthodontist

Wondering about Invisalign pain vs braces? Invisalign is made from smooth, flexible plastic that fits snugly over your teeth. You’ll hardly feel them. Yes, like braces they still apply pressure to the teeth, so you may have some discomfort as the teeth move. But in most cases, people with Invisalign experience greater comfort than those with braces.

Yet, if you do choose braces, your dentist can give you some orthodontic wax. Put it over any annoying wires or brackets to help create a smoother surface and reduce irritation.

Invisalign: how does it work? ‍

Invisalign (AKA clear braces) works by applying gentle pressure to different parts of the teeth. Over time, misaligned teeth move into the correct position, leaving you with a beautifully straight smile. This happens through a series of aligners.

These clear, customised plastic trays fit snugly over the teeth. Each new set of aligners targets different teeth. The great thing about Invisalign is that there are no metal brackets or wires. Plus, with Invisalign the teeth move in a much more controlled and less painful way than metal braces.

The biggest benefit for most? Invisalign aligners are removable. Yup. No need to cancel everything on your social calendar for the next 24 months! Take them out and tuck into that crunchy baguette. And, unlike with braces, flossing and brushing is a breeze.

Remember though, for Invisalign to work, the aligners must be worn for at least 20 to 22 hours a day.

Your step-by-step guide to Invisalign

Still a little sceptical? Let us walk you through the Invisalign procedure.

Step 1: Your consultation

Your dentist in Potts Point, Sydney, will examine teeth and gums and discuss your goals to see if Invisalign is right for you.

Step 2: Personalised plan

Forget messy, gag-worthy moulds, phew. 3D digital scans of your teeth and mouth are taken and input into a specialised software system. This maps out the precise movement needed to take your smile from “so-so” to straight.

The amazing thing about 3D scanning technology is that you can see a virtual image of how your new straight teeth will look.

Step 3: Custom aligners

Invisalign aligners are created with comfort in mind from flexible thermoplastic. The wonder of digital software ensures a perfect fit for you. When you pick up your first set of aligners, your dentist will check they fit well and explain how to use them.

Invisalign customised plastic trays fit snugly over your teeth and apply gentle pressure to move them into the correct position. Each new set of aligners targets different teeth.

‍

Step 4: Check-ups to keep on track

You’ll switch to a new set of aligners every 1-2 weeks (or as recommended). At regular appointments, your dentist will make adjustments and track the progress of your teeth.

How long does Invisalign take to work?

The honest answer is: “It depends.” For simple cases, Invisalign treatment may be as short as a few months. On average, Invisalign takes around 12-18 months. In complex cases, it may take up to 24 months.

What dental issues can Invisalign fix?

A straighter smile. Check √

But guess what? Invisalign isn’t a one-trick pony. Here’s a look at the myriad teeth problems Invisalign can help solve.

Crooked teeth

Crooked teeth are common. In fact, most people have at least a couple of misaligned teeth. The cause of crooked teeth can vary, from genetics and habits (like thumb sucking) to early loss of baby teeth and injury.

Fixing crooked teeth isn’t just about aesthetics. Misaligned teeth can cause problems with chewing and digestion. They can also place excess wear and tear on surrounding teeth. Not to mention the very real risk of tooth decay, due to the challenge of cleaning crooked toothy pegs.

The good news is that Invisalign doesn’t only push teeth into the correct position. The clear aligners can rotate, tip and even pivot teeth. Perfect for fixing crooked teeth.

Crowded teeth

Genetics, jaw size, just bad luck — sometimes teeth become bunched up (AKA overcrowded). As the teeth battle for space, they become twisted and misaligned. The problem is crowded teeth create perfect nooks and crannies for bacteria to become trapped.

In the same way that Invisalign can move crooked teeth into position, it can be effective on crowded teeth too. In case you’re wondering, yes — the severity of the crowding will play a role in whether Invisalign is the best fix. Your dentist will discuss this with you at your initial Invisalign consultation.

Gaps in teeth

Spaces between your teeth can leave you with a gappy smile. Whether the spaces are a result of tooth loss or genetics, the good news is that there’s a simple solution.

Typically, each Invisalign retainer can close around 0.2mm of space between your teeth. This means that 3-6 months of Invisalign treatment should effectively close a 2mm gap, leaving you with a gorgeous new smile.

Typically, each Invisalign retainer can close around 0.2mm of space between your teeth. This means that 3-6 months of Invisalign treatment should effectively close a 2mm gap.

‍

Overbite

Everyone has a slight overbite. In some people it’s more pronounced than others. An overbite is where the upper front teeth overlap the lower teeth. Left untreated, the lower teeth may rub against the gums behind your upper teeth. This can cause receding gums and increase your risk of decay.

So, how does Invisalign work for overbite? By placing pressure on the teeth, Invisalign aligners can correct an overbite in around 12-24 months. Depending on the complexity of the issue, attachments may be used. Known as Invisalign buttons, these are almost-invisible bumps that are placed onto certain teeth. They help guide the jaw and teeth back into the desired position.

Underbite

An underbite is basically the opposite of an overbite. The lower jaw protrudes forwards, causing the bottom teeth to overlap the top teeth. Like an overbite, an underbite can lead to issues such as jaw pain. It can also affect your ability to eat and speak normally.

Open bite

If your upper and lower teeth don’t touch when you close your mouth, you have an open bite. It may be caused by habits like thumb sucking, using a dummy or regularly holding a pen or pencil in between your teeth.

While open bites are not always easy to correct, Invisalign can be effective — depending on the severity of your bite.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and some of your upper teeth sit inside your lower teeth — rather than on the outside. Like other types of bite misalignment, a crossbite may lead to other problems. This includes jaw pain, tooth decay and changes to the facial bones.

Studies have shown that Invisalign can be effective in correcting crossbite. However, your dentist will advise you on whether braces may be a more suitable orthodontic treatment.

Been thinking about trading your gaps for dental implants? Makes sense. Dental implants are one of the most natural-looking ways to replace missing teeth. But you may be finding dental implants cost a little less appealing.

No doubt, you’ve Googled the price but this can vary — sometimes by a little, often by a lot. Feeling confused about the cost of dental implants? Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

At our Potts Point dental clinic we like to be totally transparent when it comes to our prices. Our dental implants start from $6,500. When weighing up the different costs, we feel it’s important to compare apples with apples.

The good news is that we’re here to help you. Let’s start by understanding the key things that can affect tooth implant cost. Now, let’s take a closer look to *really* understand how these five factors can influence the price of dental implants. That way, you can make a smarter decision.

1 .The quality of the implant and materials used

2 .Your dentist’s experience and skills

3 .Are we talking about single or multiple implants?

4 .The complexity of treatment (are other procedures needed?)

5 .Sedation

The quality of the implant and materials used

There are two main parts to dental implants. The implant (placed into your jaw to act as the ‘root’) and the dental crown (a natural-looking fake tooth). Most dental implants are made from titanium. This is a strong, durable metal and is the only material discovered that actually fuses with the bone.

Dental implants are one of the most natural-looking ways to replace missing teeth.

In all cases, the price of dental implants will vary depending on whether they are sourced from a well-known, reputable manufacturer or a cheaper supplier. The thing to remember is that cheaper implants typically mean lower quality or less vigorous testing. And this can lead to a higher risk of failure.

When it comes to dental crowns, porcelain (a type of ceramic) is the most popular. This is because it looks and feels more natural than other materials. Porcelain crowns can be made to match the colour of your surrounding teeth.

Other materials include porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) or gold. However, these are less natural looking. PFM can also become visible over time. A grey line of metal can appear at the gums if the gums recede.

The least expensive option is composite resin, but these have a greater chance of fractures. They are more commonly used for restoring front teeth, where there is less pressure placed on them.

A useful question to ask yourself when considering the cost of dental implants is ‘how natural and durable do you need your replacement tooth or teeth to be’.

Your dentist’s experience and skills

When it comes to the success and life span of your dental implants, training and experience make a difference.

Knowing your dentist has extra training and has performed countless dental implant procedures gives you peace of mind. Even if it does mean a higher cost.

Dr Jaskaran has done extensive training for advanced implantology and augmentation with AIA and keeps up to date with new technology and advanced procedures. Since then, she has helped many of her patients restore their smile with dental implants.

‍Are we talking about single or multiple implants?

Dental implants can replace a single tooth or several teeth. This, of course, affects the cost. Keep in mind, if three or more teeth in a row are missing, you don’t need to fork out for a separate implant for each gap. Instead, you can have an implant-supported bridge.

In this case, up to six teeth can be replaced with just two dental implants. One at either side of the gap.

Dental implants can replace a single tooth or several teeth.

The complexity of treatment (are other procedures needed?)

In more complex cases, other surgical procedures may be needed for dental implants to work. This includes teeth extraction, a bone or gum graft or a sinus lift.

In instances where the teeth have been missing for a while, there may be significant bone loss. Bone grafting is used to replace the missing bone tissue and encourage new bone growth. This is needed to ensure the implants remain stable.

Some people may also choose additional cosmetic treatments or addressing wisdom teeth to supercharge their new smile. Teeth whitening, veneers and Invisalign are some of the more common options. While these aren’t essential, they’re a great way to boost your smile confidence.

Sedation

Many people ask for sedation when having dental treatment. Here at Dentistry At The Cross we offer ‘happy gas’ sedation. You gently breathe it in through a small mask placed over your nose. This helps to melt away fear, leaving you feeling sleepy but beautifully relaxed and fear free.

Just keep in mind that sedation comes at an additional fee. It’s worthwhile asking your dentist if sedation is included in the dental implants cost quoted. Because no one likes to be hit with unexpected costs at the end of their treatment.

Ready to trade your gap for an implant that looks and feels like a natural tooth? Book in for a judgement-free consultation.
